Un anniversaire pour les oiseaux !
Nous sommes 15 habitants ici, et donc 15 anniversaires à célébrer chaque année; parfois 2 ou 3 par mois ! Donc, pourquoi ne pas profiter de toutes ces occasions pour faire un projet ou un chantier qui nous tient à coeur ? C’est ce qu’a demandé Kim au mois de Février, « pas de repas, ni de gâteaux, pas de fête, juste quelques heures pour fabriquer des nichoirs pour les oiseaux de Lavenant ! » Joanna et Raph ont relevé le défi. Grace à leur recherche (www.ornithomedia.com et https://www.lpo.fr), et réflexion sur quelles espèces cibler, grace à quelques préparations en avance (bois pré-coupés, charnières et vis achetés, perceuses chargées…) 12 nichoirs ont été fabriqués en 2 heures ! Maintenant on observe les va et viens des oiseaux et on garde un œil pour les premiers envols des oisillons. L’année prochaine ? Des nichoirs pour les chouettes !
English: Birthday Celebration for the birds !
With 15 people living here, there are 15 birthdays to celebrate each year ; sometimes 2 or 3 in one month ! So why not use the occasion to do that project you’ve been meaning to get to, especially one that helps others ? That’s what Kim asked for in February, « not a meal, or a cake, not a party...just a few hours to build birdnests for Lavenant! » Perfect for a winter birthday celebration. Joanna and Raph took up the challenge. Thanks to their research and preparation (identify which species to build the nests for, pre cut the wood, purchase the hinges and screws, charge the drills…), 12 nests were built in 2 hours ! Now we sit back and watch the back and fro of momma busy birds, and our eye is out for the fledglings’ first flight. Next year ? Owl boxes !
